Kids in the Kitchen

On October 26th, K-5 Kids in the Kitchen participants made pumpkin cake balls, jack-o’-lantern cheese quesadillas, and participated in a STEM building activity where they designed catapults to launch candy corn and candy pumpkins.

Participants also learned that dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide. Since carbon dioxide does not have a liquid state, it turns directly into a gas and when added to warm water creates a spooky fog. Using a special science device, plus some watered down dish soap, we were able to use that fog to create frozen bubbles or “boo” bubbles!
