National FFA Convention

November 07, 2019

The Northwestern FFA chapter attended the 92nd National FFA Convention and Expo. The chapter traveled alongside Keytesville and Hallsville. Each school allowed 10 students to attend the National FFA Convention.  The students who attended from Northwestern were Emily Bell, Channing Gladbach, Alexa McCollum, Anna Speichinger, Silas Brown, Andrew Buck, J. R. Bushery, Kamron Hoag, and Hunter Stockwell. These students attended the opening session,  the 4th general session, and the American Degree ceremony to cheer on Joseph Stephens who received his American Degree on Saturday, Nov. 2. Unfortunately, Joseph couldn't make the session due to other commitments. Along with these sessions, the students also took a tour at the Ozark Fisheries located in Martinsville, IN. The fisheries is a family run business which started in Stoutland, MO.  The students experienced another side of agriculture, which is farmed raised fish. This company specializes in koi, butterfly koi, and goldfish.  Other than the leadership sessions and tour, the students had fun by attending the Brett Young concert, exhibiting the career show, and even the FFA mall.
