FFA Update

What a year it has been for Northwestern R-I FFA students. As the year comes to a close, students are still hard at work getting school work done, shop projects, and much more. These students should be proud of all their hard work and accomplishments this year. On April 28th,  Ayden Spencer and Andrew Buck traveled to Audrain County 4H Center. The reason it took place in the 4H center is because there was more space for students to spread out due to COVID. Ayden Spencer and Andrew Buck were awarded their Area IV degree. There were also two other students from the Northwestern R-I FFA chapter that received their Area IV degree this year as well. Those students were Anna Speichinger and Hayden Harms. They did not attend the Area IV banquet due to prior commitments. Hayden also received a third place in Area IV for pig production proficiency award as well. Congratulations to these students.

On May 2nd, Anna Speichinger and Andrew Buck traveled to the Missouri State fairgrounds to attend the 93rd Missouri State FFA Convention, to receive their state degree award. Unfortunately the convention was only open to students who won awards, advisors, and chaperones if needed. I’m sure Anna and Andrew were honored to be recognized in person at a somewhat normal state convention. Compared to last year, the state convention was all virtual, which really sucked because Anna would have been on stage with her family to be recognized as an Area IV proficiency award winner. In all I hope everyone has a great year and keeps up the hard work.
