Poem in My Pocket
Kindergarten through Sixth grade students worked on poetry in April, in honor of National Poetry Month. They learned about different poetic elements and read and analyzed poems. They also wrote their own poems, learning about several different types. On Thursday, April 29th, we celebrated Poem in My Pocket Day. Students chose one of the poems they wrote to keep in their pocket to share with their classmates and other classes. The classes also took a poetry walk through the hallway to read the poems that were posted on the walls. It was fun to see their creativity and everyone worked hard and did an amazing job!
